Details: Transit Bus Driver (Non-Exempt)                                                        JOB SUMMARY:Operates gas or diesel bus on company designated routes, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for private and proprietary clients and passengers of Spots Party Bus, LLC. Performance and work/service product at all times must comply with federal, state and city law, speed and safety regulations, including the Federal Department of Transportation regulations, and company policies, professionalism, tidiness, customer service, safety, and fulfill all the requirements of Spots Party Bus, LLC.Essential Functions: Spots Party Bus, LLC is a service company.  As such, all employees are expected to use their experience, personality, and/or training to maintain a consistent marketable image, as directed by the company, which is positive, professional, engaging in demeanor, customer oriented and utilizes chauffer-like etiquette while tactfully refraining from becoming involved with the clientele or the event. At start of shift, obtains, reads, and is responsible for familiarity and understanding of route assignment/surrounding area. Walks around bus to perform pre-route safety and cleaning inspection, observes and notates any visual defects, immediately notifying the supervisor of any deficiencies.  Checks operating systems–brakes, horn, windshield wipers, lights, first-aid kits, emergency flashers, and door-opening devices and adequacy before starting trip. Checks with dispatcher for operation of two-way radio and/or maintains functioning cell phone for routine and emergency communication. Reports to starting point of assigned route five minutes before scheduled departure time. Collects and secures rental fee(s) and signed passenger agreements or endorsements. Picks up and discharges at designated stops or stations, following prescribed company service route and safety rules, making sure to clearly announce each departure and stop. Uses waiting time to eat or rest as appropriate in order to be ready for continued/return trip at schedule time(s). Greets and thanks passengers while assisting with helping clients, elderly, and persons with limited mobility to enter and exit the bus. Maintains and distributes promotional literature and is knowledgeable about current offerings and upcoming events. Answers questions about route events, service, directions, and other pertinent information. Communicates and monitors for compliance with company pre-route/transit/and exit safety practices. Calmly and immediately reports emergencies, accidents, or incidental safety conditions to dispatcher or supervisor via mobile radio and/or cellular phone.  Alters plans or modifies schedules under the direction of supervisor as necessitates by weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Requests police and/or ambulance service as needed. In case of emergency, illness, or injury, remains calm, gives instructions to passengers, and assists in evacuations and utilization of the first-aid kit until emergency services arrive. Completes company incident/accident reports within 24 hours if not immediately. At end of route - checks, logs, and secures any forgotten personal items and removes/cleans up any trash or waste items from the bus. Completes driver observation report(s) at the completion of shift, record work and travel times, expenses incurred, and any safety, customer complaints or comments to manager.
