Aircraft Maintenance Manager

Details: Job Classification: Direct Hire •***********THIS POSITION IS IN Fort Worth, TX***********Aircraft Maintenance Manager The Aircraft Maintenance Manager is responsible to the Program Manager for performing duties assigned. Exercises independent judgment and possesses abilities sufficient to supervise. Employee consults with the Program Manager where departures from standard practices are involved. This position is a full time responsibility and must be located at the main operating site, Aviation Operations Center (AOC) at Alliance Airport, Fort Worth, Texas. This position is considered to be a key personnel position. The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following duties: -Responsible for maintenance performed at the AOC (Fixed wing, rotor wing, and avionics departments) and Field Operating Sites. -Informs and discusses aircraft and maintenance issues with Program Manager and customer representatives. -Ensures compliance with procedures and practices required to maintain FAA Repair Station Certification and company quality management system. -Plans, directs, and coordinates all maintenance activities at the AOC. -Conducts regular production meetings with maintenance staff and customer. -Assures maintenance actions are performed according to specific technical guidance presented in aircraft or system maintenance manuals, repair station manual, and other technical publications. -Maintains fleet statistical maintenance data and performs statistical analysis that benefits customer and company in program management. -Monitors subcontractor maintenance activities that have delays, problems, or issues that are aircraft related or subcontractor performance related. -Directs and manages the execution of all maintenance and repair activities, takes steps to prevent or correct disruption caused by personnel availability, failure of machinery, tools, materials or changes in schedule. -Participates, as member of the management team, in formulating and establishing organizational policies and operating procedures for the company. -Ensures compliance with company and contract policies and procedures and ethics programs. -Develops, reviews, and updates maintenance department procedures manuals. -Recommends policies and procedures as well as contract modifications to increase overall efficiency. -Resolves any conflicts, discrepancies or omissions in technical guidance. -Monitors and evaluates performance, assists in the development of goals and objectives, and writes performance reviews on direct reports. -Monitors the scheduling of vacations and time off for subordinates. Reviews the performance of subordinates and participates in decisions concerning their wage adjustment and discipline. -Coordinates and schedules mechanic and technician travel for maintenance requirements. -Provides training and assists employees in proper procedures, methods and practices to be followed in each maintenance activity. -Ensures all shop equipment and tools are maintained in a serviceable and safe condition. -Ensures the hangar is maintained in a clean and orderly manner. -Ensures personnel are observing all safety precautions. -Establishes a non-hazardous work environment conductive to the safety and well being of all employees. -Able to work any assigned shift or schedule, including mission support outside normal duty hours. -Travel as required to support program and customers mission requirements. -Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: -Two year technical trade school, military experience, or equivalent on-the-job training required. -Hold a valid Airframe & Powerplant certificate with maintenance and repair issued by the FAA. -Minimum of fifteen (15) years extensive experience in aircraft and power plant maintenance and repair with a minimum of five (5) of the fifteen years as a Maintenance Supervisor operating under FAR's part 91 and 145 at the level of responsibility for making airworthiness decisions. -Experience shall be in a similar position within the last twelve (12) months; shall possess a working knowledge of the applicable Federal Aviation Administration's Regulations (FAR) and its application to airframe, power plant and propeller troubleshooting procedures and techniques. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: The following skills and abilities are required:-Must have excellent oral and written communication skills -Must have comprehensive knowledge of MS Office Professional Suite including MS Project and use various computerized database and software programs to develop maintenance production schedules, maintain data, and produce reports for company and customer fleet maintenance management purposes. -Must have the ability to develop and write documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. -Must be able to analyze problems and independently make decisions to resolve them. -Must be able to make appropriate decisions according to standard company and customer policies and procedures. -Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance from the Department of Defense. -Must be able to obtain and maintain in force a valid driver's license. -Must maintain a valid US Passport and the appropriate vaccinations required for international travel. -Successful completion of a Department of Justice security clearance will be required prior to employment. -Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen. -US Citizenship RequiredJoin Aerotek Aviation®LLC.
