Diesel Tech - In Shop - North Dakota - Relo Available!

Details: Key Responsibilities• Troubleshoot failures, diagnose, repair, and rebuild Cummins engines• Remove and install engines in equipment chassis • Remove and install components on engines, in and out of chassis • Rebuild engine components • Perform maintenance and repairs on truck chassis• Document the work performed• Maintain training requirements for positionCritical Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Functional/Technical • Experience and/or education as mechanic in repair of diesel engines• Knowledge and understanding of engine theory and operation• Able to use a computer and programs such as Quick Serve On-line and INSITE• Able to read instructions and communicate effectively• Have own tools and toolbox• CDL with clean driving history preferred • Excellent customer support skillsThis position is located in NORTH DAKOTA.WE ARE WILLING TO TRAIN THE RIGHT DIESEL TECH SCHOOL NEW GRAD.RELOCATION AND HOUSING ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE FOR TECHNICIANS.

Details: Key Responsibilities• Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all types of trucks and equipment.• Serve as an in-field representative for Cummins NPower to provide service solutions and superior customer serviceCritical Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities by Dimension:Functional/Technical• Experience with engine diagnosis and troubleshooting• Ability to interpret repair work orders, requisition parts and supplies, and complete the necessary reporting to accomplish the required mechanical repairs• Ability to read instructions, parts information, and communicate effectively with employees and customers• Strong computer skills in order to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs• Maintain an inventory of parts, supplies and literature • Must have own set of general tools• Comply with the company’s safety standards and policies• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record. MASTER LEVEL DIESEL TECHNICIAN

Details: Master technicians are tasked with repairing the most challenging and time-sensitive problems that vehicles have when they arrive at the service department.  Master technicians also may spend much of their time diagnosing and repairing unusual problems, rather than conducting more routine vehicle service or simple repairs. In large shops, master technicians are specialized, using a variety of computerized systems to complete their work.The duties of a master technician include: Conferring with customers or service advisors to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements. Examining vehicles to determine wear and extent of damage or malfunctions. Assisting the shop foreman/lead technician in recruiting and hiring qualified service technicians as well as assisting technicians with their skills, providing technical support when needed and monitoring performance and productivity. Testing and adjusting repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications. Ensuring that the shop is in excellent condition in regard to cleanliness, safety, and equipment condition, and conducting periodic spot checks to maintain high-quality service. Test-driving vehicles, and testing components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges and computerized diagnostic devices.
